My R&D interests focus on various medical imaging techniques. I have my Ph.D. degree from Lab. of Image Science and Technology at Southeast University, China, who developed the world's first rotational Gamma-Knife system and famous for its commercial treatment planning software in China. After my graduation, I worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at Image Science and Information Systems Center at Georgetown University, and focused on surgical navigation system with novel electromagnetically tracking devices. Currently, I am a key member of Accuray Inc's imaging research group, to work on the company's robotically assisted image guided radiosurgery system - CyberKnife.
My research areas cover image guided surgery, visualization, registration and navigation in the medical image processing areas, such as virtual endoscopy system, active navigation, GPU-based volume rendering in visualization and graphics area; registration, calibration and feature detections in image processing area; and system architecture and integration in surgical navigation system.
Journal papers include Computer Aided Surgery, Journal of Vascular and Intervention Radiology, Journal of Image and Computer Graphics, and Science in China. MICCAI, SPIE, CARS, and AAPM are mostly related conferences.
Beside the research projects, software architecture, integration and development are also my interests. I have extensive development experience in medical image applications, with the certificate of senior software engineer and system analyzer. My previously developed software includes 3D medical image workstation for image analysis and visualization, interactive virtual endoscopy system, DirectView GPU volume rendering program, Navigator (image guided navigation system using electromagnetic tracking devices), DICOM server/client, and some commercial products in the current company. Open source projects are also my interest. I am a previous developed of IGSTK and familiar with ITK/VTK package.
